How To Format Pendrive Using CMD
In this post I am gonna tell you How To Format Your Pendrive Using CMD.
With the increase in technological advancements the use of data transfer medium has also increased.
And today every person who deals with computers deal with data transfer between two
computers and mobiles.And the most commonly used medium to transfer data is USB or Pendrive.Also there are lots of virus which gets transferred with the transfer of data, so the best method to remove the virus and protect your PC is to format your Pendrive.
Just follow the few simple steps to Format your Pendrive using CMD.
---Steps To Format Pendrive Using CMD:
Step 1: First of all,connect USB/Pendrive flash drive to your computer.
Step 2:After connecting, check letter assigned to the USB flash drive(whether it's J: or G: or H:). Because you will have to specify the drive name in the formaty command while formatting Pendrive.
For example: when en I connected the Pendrive to my laptop, I checked the drive name and it showed G: as shown below.
Step 3: Next,press Win+R keys together to open the Run Dialog box and type CMD and then press enter.

Step 4: After the press,Windows command prompt will appear on your screen.Type the following command on the CMD and press enter:
Step 6: So simply press the enter button.Now formatting of your pendrive or USB flashdrive will get started.Wait until 100% is complete
Step 7: "Now you will be able to see a message like "Initialising The File Allocation Table(FAT).....Volume Label(11 characters,ENTER for None)?" which means Format has been completed and it's waiting for your confirmation.
Step 8: So just press Enter again. Once the Pendrive Formatting process is completed you will see "Format Complete" message along with few details is as shown:

This is a simple technique by which you can easily Format Your Pendrive Using CMD .This method will make your Pendrive more faster and will Remove all the Viruses present in your Pendrive.

- - In the command prompt the following parameters stand for:
- The q parameter stands for quick format.
- The x parameter forces the selected volume to dismount if required.
- The letter G is the drive name(it can vary with your drive name).
Step 6: So simply press the enter button.Now formatting of your pendrive or USB flashdrive will get started.Wait until 100% is complete
